Indian held with 37 bottles of imported liquor

KUWAIT CITY, June 5: Officers from the Hawalli Security Directorate nailed an Indian expatriate in Salwa area in possession of 37 bottles of imported liquor. Apparently, the officers were on a round of the governorate upon instructions from their security chief Major General Abdeen Al-Abdeen when the man aroused their suspicion. They waved the suspect down for checking and found 37 bottles of imported gin in his car during the routine search. They also discovered while checking his details that deportation order had been issued against him since 2015 for entering the country illegally. He was referred to the concerned authority.

41 kg drugs seized: Marine patrolmen affiliated to Seas Security Unit of the Coast Guard foiled an attempt by a three-man drug trafficking gang to smuggle 41 kgs of illicit substance via sea, reports Al- Seyassah daily. Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Interior Ministry stated the sector was tipped-off about a gang planning to smuggle illicit drugs via sea. Subsequent to investigation and confirmation of report, marine patrolmen intercepted the suspects’ boat and recovered the contraband. The suspects were referred with the items to the concerned authority for legal action.

Hashish with Arab expat: Police officers from Hawally Security Command arrested a Lebanese man in Salwa for the possession of ‘hashish’, says Al-Seyassah. According to police sources, the officers were patrolling the area when they spotted a vehicle moving erratically so they chased it and asked the driver pull over. The officers noticed that the driver, a Lebanese, appeared intoxicated. While searching the suspect, the officers found an undisclosed quantity of ‘hashish’ in his possession. He told the officers that the ‘hashish’ was for his personal use, but that did not stop the officers from referring him to the concerned authorities for legal action.

Drug pills with trio: The Jahra police have arrested three people — a Kuwaiti and two young bedoun — for possessing and consuming narcotics, reports Al-Anba daily. The men were arrested on suspicion while driving along a road in Al-Oyoun. Police have seized from the men 33 narcotic pills and some money allegedly proceeds from the sale of narcotics. The Kuwaiti has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department because he was sentenced in absentia in financial fraud worth KD 33,000 and the bedoun have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control.
