Indian commits suicide; Passport officer in duty breach

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 7: An Indian expatriate ended his life with a rope tied to the ceiling of his room at a bachelor’s accommodation in Jleeb Shuyoukh area. The Operations Room of the Interior Ministry was notified about the incident and a team of rescue men went to the scene and dealt with the situation. The remains were referred to Forensics. A case was registered.

Passport officer held: Security officers of Kuwait International Airport have been alerted about the involvement of a passport officer who has been receiving money for facilitating the entry of blacklisted persons to the country. The passport officer was put under surveillance and caught in the act while facilitating the entry of blacklisted Indian, without taking his fingerprint or feeding the system with the date of his entry. The passport officer has been referred to the concerned authorities for further investigations.

 Inmate stabbed: A Bedoun sustained a stab wound in the back when a group of inmates engaged in a fight inside cell number one of the Central Prison. The injured person was transferred to a hospital accompanied by security operatives. A case was registered.
