KUWAIT CITY, April 24: MP Saleh Ashour has called on the current government to leave, saying it was unable to manage the strike of the oil sector employees, reports Al-Anba daily.

He emphasized the acting minister of oil and the concerned officials in the oil sector should immediately submit their resignations because of their failure to manage such crisis, reports Al-Anba daily.

In his replies to the questions from the newspaper readers, he said part of Tuesday’s session may be assigned to discuss the strike of the oil sector. He added, the number of lawmakers who reject the new electricity tariff will increase in the coming session. He confirmed the new tariff will increase the burden on citizens by 100 percent.

He indicated the current Parliament is weak at the level of surveillance; yet, it is strong in terms of its legislative role. He expects 50 percent of the members of the former opposition to join the coming Parliament
