Imams told to avoid pulpits for poll purposes

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 18: The Mosques Affairs Department of Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has given strict instructions to all Imams and preachers regarding the need to avoid using mosque pulpits for election purposes in the coming phase, reports Al-Qabas daily.

According to informed sources, the ministry has warned that it will take strong actions against preachers who violate these instructions. The ministry will provide a number of subjects for them to preach about and not allow any other without permission. It also warned against any illegal collection of donations inside the mosques
