KUWAIT CITY, April 16: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs as a precautionary measure has suspended the services of an unidentified imam and barred him from speaking in public until investigations into allegations that he has violated the bylaws of the mosques are looked into by the Religious Functions Committee of the ministry, reports Al- Qabas daily.A knowledgeable source said the ministry has recently tightened control over preachers particularly those who do not abide by the rules and regulations and this has led to about 80 percent curb in violations during the first quarter of the year. In the meantime, the sources asserted the ministry has also tightened control over the maintenance of all mosques before the beginning of the month of Ramadan.
