Illegal Sri Lankan arrested

KUWAIT CITY, May 2: The Farwaniya police have arrested a Sri Lankan for entering the country illegally, reports Al-Rai daily. The Sri Lankan was arrested in Farwaniya and when police checked his ID, police discovered his residence permit had expired a few days ago. However, the Ministry of Interior records showed he had left the country one year ago. So the Interior Ministry charged him with entering the country illegally.

Sleeping on road: A Kuwaiti citizen in his 20s was arrested for sleeping in the middle of a road in Khaitan area under narcotic influence. According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling Khaitan area when they noticed a young man lying in the middle of the road. Thinking he met with an accident, they rushed to him but realized he was fast asleep. They noticed that he was still holding a lit cigarette stuffed with drugs. They woke him up and referred him to Drugs Control General Department for investigations. Meanwhile, Jahra securitymen arrested a Kuwaiti citizen on Fifth Ring Road near Qairawan area in possession of 22 red-colored narcotic pills. He was arrested with the pills to the concerned authorities for investigations.
