IBAK Team Smash Tourney 2021 a grand success

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 3: The IBAK Team Smash Tourney 2021 organized recently at the IBAK gym, Salwa saw the participation of 200 players from over 10 nationalities. The dedicated team of volunteers and IBAK officials made this event a grand success, following all Covid-19 norms and protocols The event was inaugurated by Dr. Jaber Taleb Ali Al Marri, Ministry of Health (chief guest) in the presence of Dr. Manimara Chozhan, Chairman IBAK, KT Chandrahas, President IBAK, Anesh Abraham Mathew, General Secretary IBAK and Subin Varghese Tournament Director IBAK.

The tournament was supported by M/s. Elite Maritime Co. WLL by way of sponsorship and were represented by Tiju Alex Paul (Business Development Manager) and Manu Cheriyan (Assistant- Operations) The qualifying and preliminary league round robin started on Sept 23 and the finals were played on Sept 24.

This tourney saw fierce competition and sprung out several surprise finalists. IBAK Team Smash Tourney was played in four categories Professional Doubles; Advance Doubles; Intermediate Doubles and Beginner’s Doubles The results are as follows; Beginners Doubles – Winner Wahideen Milhan+Ismail Mohamed; Runner up Akber Usman+Jofy Alen; Semifinalist Krishnan Venkataraman+Rakesh Chengalath; Semifinalist Ruhain Chandok+Felix Raj; Intermediate Doubles — Winner Sajeev Aswin+Aswin S Ullas M; Runner up Raneesh Kartha+Ajin M; Semifinalist Mihir Mohanan+Vaibhav Sreejith; Semifinalist Jose Jeswin+Justin Manuel; Advance Doubles — Winner Ainsly Dsouza+Sarvesh Rajkumar; Runner up Binoj Chalissery+Surya Manoj; Semifinalist Binoy Thomas+Naseeb Mv; Semifinalist Arif Saiyed+Joby Mathew; Professional Doubles — Winner Aneef Latheef+Arshad NV; Runner up Abdul Jabbar+Harsath Kader; Semifinalist Don Francis+Sanju Mathew; Semifinalist Hisham Ezzi+Dhruva Ramesh

The prizes were given away by the dignitaries. The Indian Badminton Association, Kuwait (IBAK) was founded in April 2010 as a non-profit organization committed to the popularization and development of the game of badminton in Kuwait.
