KUWAIT CITY, Dec 15: Aided by helicopters and patrolmen, detectives from the General Investigation Department raided several livestock pens in Kabad area and retrieved four pieces of weapons along with the parts of Kalashnikov, and referred the owners to the Public Prosecution.

Director of Weapons at the General Investigation Department Major General Faraj Al-Zaabi stated the sector initiated the third phase of campaign for collecting unlicensed weapons under Law No. 6/2015 and targets livestock pens and farms.

He noted many livestock pens have since been raided in Kabad area following the first and second phases of the campaign for collecting unlicensed weapons through the inspection of vehicles. In a press statement, Major General Al- Zaabi explained the livestock pens may be raided repeatedly. He commended positive cooperation on the part of citizens with concerned security authorities that led to the confiscation of unlicensed weapons.
