KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19, (KUNA): Kuwait Ministry of Interior Tuesday urged families to inform their Area’s police station if they wanted to stay away from their houses for several days and to keep their valuable belongings into banks’ safe deposit boxes, in order to prevent theft.

The families should also close water taps and keep dim lights at their houses in case of vacationing with the aim of minimizing risk of being stolen, the MoI said in a statement.

The MoI, it added, was implementing a security plan to confront theft of houses and would increase deployment of patrols in residential areas, as well as boosting check points. The ministry urged the public to call police on (112) if they saw suspicious movements near houses and residential buildings.
