KUWAIT CITY, April 18: Following His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid’s announcement about the launch of second phase of the evacuation plan for Kuwaitis from overseas starting this week, there are increased number of advertisements for hotel apartments that are offering quarantine facilities to citizens who wish to selfquarantine, at rents of KD 400 for 15 days and KD 650 for a month.
The owners of such apartments are trying to attract the returning citizens who prefer not to mix with their relatives and children upon their arrival in Kuwait in order to ensure the safety of their loved ones.
The advertisements of the hotel apartments include several enticing packages, such as all services and discounts on prices, sea view of the apartment if required by the customer, round-the-clock room service, free Wi-Fi service, and free parking service.
The director of a hotel apartment building explained to the daily that they provide such services to the returning citizens who have been ordered by Ministry of Health to self-quarantine at home.
Hotel apartments can serve as a quarantine venue for the returnees and as a refuge away from contact with their families, with all means of comfort to spend the period in the best and easiest manner.
This would make it easier for citizens who are told to self-quarantine at home but are not willing to return to their families until they are completely cleared of COVID-19 infection or do not have proper arrangements for isolation in their houses.
All safety measures recommended by Ministry of Health are being adhered to in such hotel apartment buildings in terms of health safety of the workers, high level of hygiene, and use of gloves, facemasks and sterilizers, as well as ensuring the rooms are properly cleaned after every two days.
He revealed that the hotel apartments offered to customers are available at a discounted cost of KD 400 for the 15-day quarantine period, and up to KD 650 if citizens choose to spend longer time of 30 days at the hotel apartments
