Hold on hiring – No to requests

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), represented by the Labor Estimation Department, issued a circular to its subordinate units in all labor departments to temporarily suspend accepting requests for increasing the number of employees, reports Aljarida daily quoting reliable sources from PAM.

They explained that PAM decided to suspend these requests due to the unprecedented recession the labor market is currently suffering from as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, suspension of labor recruitment from abroad until the end of this year, which could extend until the first quarter of 2021, and lack of transactions for transferring work permits from one employer to another.

The only requests that will be received will be for increasing the national manpower, which however will be limited only for serious activities that are urgently needed and expected to resume from next month.
