“Grilling of Finance Minister a Pure Election Stunt”

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: MP Safa’a Al-Hashem considers the interrogation request which MP Muhammad Hayef intends to present against the Minister of Finance Nayef Al-Hajraf is a mere ‘election stunt’ since it coincides with the last parliamentary session, reports Al-Rai daily.

She pointed out the MP just wants to portray himself in the eyes of the voters of his constituency as a strong personality as the last legislative term in nearing end.

Al-Hashem told the daily, “The MP says that the second axis in his interrogation is related to the abuse of power and the non-implementation of verdicts issued in the name of His Highness.” She told Hayef “Yes, in the name of His Highness but these verdicts are not applied on your colleagues who have been sentenced by the court but are currently living outside the country.” When it comes to your colleagues, “You turn a blind eye and everything falls on deaf ears because they are your colleagues,” she added. “Where is your respect to the verdicts issued in the name of HH The Amir while you go and sit and dine and with them and take pictures with them, she asked.
