GOFSCO hails sponsorship of ‘Maker Faire Kuwait 2018’ – Move reinforces its corporate social responsibility strategy of supporting young makers

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: Gas & Oil fields services company (GOFSCO), one of the largest integrated service providers in Kuwait specializing in the upstream oil and gas sector, both onshore and offshore, recently hailed a successful silver sponsorship of the renowned ‘Maker Faire Kuwait 2018’ which was held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
GOFSCO’s sponsorship comes in line with its solid corporate social responsibility strategy that aims at supporting young talents, especially those who have the ability to develop handmade crafts and innovative ideas to benefit the society.
During the exhibition, GOFSCO’s booth welcomed approximately 43,000 visitors of all ages, whereby they were introduced to the company’s field of services and history, in addition to being provided with the chance to experiment the process of oil testing. The activity allowed both youth and adults to understand the process of separating oil in a highly safe environment, thus highlighting the importance of engineering within this field of business.

Maker Faire is a globally renowned event that gathers tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, and students of all ages to display their creations and share their expertise in unique ways. The event was originated in the United States and has rapidly gained global popularity to the extent that it was adopted by former US president Obama and hosted in the White House. Since then, the Maker Faire event has been held in multiple countries around the world, now including the GCC region with Kuwait as the only exclusive host.
