GCC deplores JASTA

MANAMA, Nov 23, (KUNA): The 10th meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) parliament speakers yielded condemnation of the US’s Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA), since it violates basic principles of international law and relations.

JASTA is an infraction of the sovereignty enjoyed by all nations and United Nations (UN) conventions germane to this principle should be adhered to, a statement issued after the meeting noted. Moreover, the statement urged the US Congress to reconsider this law since it constitutes a grave threat to the efforts of the UN to preserve global peace and security.
