Gay men stay together after foreign marriage?

KUWAIT CITY, May 17: In an unprecedented event, two gay men have taken a flat in Salmiya area to live together as a couple after getting married in Amsterdam, says Al-Seyassah.

Video of the couple has gone viral as users of social media condemn the act. Owner of the video who happens to be a hermaphrodite claims he married a transvestite and got approval of the parents to celebrate their marriage upon returning to Kuwait.

Bloggers have appealed to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah to take necessary action to deal with the strange culture infiltrating into the society.

Woman beggar caught: Police have arrested a 50-year bedoun woman for begging for alms and handed her over to the Talha Deportation Center, reports Al-Anba daily.

The first arrest this year on the eve of Ramadan proves the Interior Ministry is serious about fighting the phenomenon of begging. Police were seen around mosques and markets.

This is in addition to organizing security campaigns in Ardhiya, Sabah Al-Nasser and Firdous and during which 15 street vendors and hawkers were seized.

Police also arrested three motorists for driving without licence. All those arrested have been referred to the concerned authority to prepare their deportation from the country.

Cigarettes auctioned: The head of the auction committee at the General Administration of Customs Ali Al-Enezi said the GAC sold 3,120 cartons of cigarettes and other miscellaneous goods worth KD 41,300 during a public auction, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Enezi pointed out the auction committee evaluates the goods in an approximate manner after inquiring about their prices in the local market, in order to preserve the public money.

“The the auction was organized in accordance with the law and regulations governing the sale of confiscated goods,” said Al-Enezi.

He added the committee continuously announces through all available media the time, date and place of the auction for the benefit of the interested people.

Staring leads to fight: A commercial complex in Jahra area was transformed into a boxing arena when two youths accused each other of staring. It took the intervention of security operatives to resolve the quarrel, and the two feuding parties were referred to the area police station.
