Gang of three Syrians caught for muggings, stealing cash

 KUWAIT CITY, Aug 23: A gang of three Syrians was arrested for waylaying people and robbing them of their money especially after they visit money exchange bureaus. According to the Public Relations and Security Media Department of Ministry of Interior, officers from Farwaniya Department of Criminal Evidences launched investigations after receiving information that a Syrian expatriate was robbed of KD 11,250 by three unknown individuals while he was returning from a money exchange bureau in Farwaniya area.

Investigations led to the discovery that a gang has been stealing from people who visit money exchange bureaus. The officers kept a tab on this gang and eventually arrested all members of the gang on Sunday, August 21 in Nugra area.

When questioned, the suspects confessed that they had recently stolen KD 9,000 from an Asian expatriate in Jabriya area. The three suspects were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
