KUWAIT CITY, March 2: The Court of Appeals commuted the death sentence imposed on a citizen, who stabbed his friend to death with a knife in Mubarak Al-Kabeer while he was under the influence of psychotropic substances, to 13 years in prison, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Sources from the Ministry of Interior revealed that officers assigned in the Research and Investigation Department in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, in coordination with the Criminal Evidence Department, succeeded in closing the case on the killing of a citizen, in his 50s, inside his house in Mubarak AlKabeer.
The officers said the killer – friend of the victim – has had a history of drug abuse. During interrogation, the defendant admitted his crime and guided police to the location of the knife he used to kill the victim. This came after a woman, in her 20s, reported that her father’s body was found inside the room in the family’s house. The body was referred to Forensics which declared that the victim died due to stab wounds. Detectives also lifted fingerprints from the crime scene
