‘Free-for-all’ in Shuwaikh; 16 arrested

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 25: Some 16 Syrian and Egyptian expatriates were apprehended for participating in the fight and causing public disorder based on a previous quarrel between two of their compatriots. Apparently, a Syrian and an Egyptian engaged in a fight in Shuwaikh Industrial Area, and the Syrian went to Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh to seek support from his friends who agreed to accompany him to the Egyptian’s shop in Shuwaikh for settling of scores, and it escalated into exchange of blows between the supporters of both parties.

Acting on information, Chief of Capital Security Directorate Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah accompanied his men to the scene to deal with the situation, and 16 Egyptian and Syrian expatriates were arrested for participating in the fight. They were referred to concerned authorities.
