Four Hajj caravans ‘selected’ to ferry 2018 Bedoun pilgrims

Fifth caravan to be added

KUWAIT CITY, June 28: Hajj Affairs Office at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced selecting four Hajj caravans already for Bedoun pilgrims. It added the fifth caravan was to be picked on Thursday, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The daily quoting a source said the four caravans selected after opening of bid envelopes include Al-Munshid, Ashkanani, Dawood Al-Kanderi and Meshari Al- Mutairi. The fifth caravan will be of Al-Khorafior Al- Sa’afaf since they both presented the lowest bid.

The caravans have already agreed with Hajj Affairs Office that selection of the fifth caravan will depend on the lowest price or withdrawal of one of the two lowest bidders. He indicated the bids were highly competitive, because all caravans involved tried to reduce the price as much as they could. He also said 21 caravans participated in the tender, indicating it was the first time such a high number of caravans would bid for the provision of transport to Bedoun pilgrims
