Forged degree holder will be sent for probe

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: No academic qualification – whether for an employee or an official in any public institution — will be approved unless an equivalency certificate is obtained from the Ministry of Higher Education, reports Al-Qabas daily reliable sources from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Meanwhile, high-ranking sources from ministry disclosed that if it is proven a university degree is forged; the file will be referred to the Public Prosecution immediately after verification. Sources confirmed the concerned employer and the CSC will be notified once the file is referred to the prosecution in order to take action.

Sources said it is necessary to differentiate between a forged certificate or obtaining a certificate from an unaccredited university; explaining that if the certificate is proven to be forged, the file is referred to the prosecution directly whether forgery is discovered after submitting the certificate for equivalency or if it was reported by the employer or institution.
