‘Forbid women from cafes, shishas’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 1: Member of the Municipal Council Mane’a Al-Ajmi disclosed that he will submit a proposal to forbid women from entering cafés and shisha smoking places, reports Al-Rai daily. Preacher Hai Al-Hai said in a fatwa that a woman who smokes shisha is considered legally disobedient and it is a taboo for her husband who allowed her to smoke. Al-Ajmi pointed out the Kuwaiti society is conservative and the State institutions, especially the ministries of Commerce and Interior should take serious steps  to prevent the entry of women in cafés with immediate effect, especially since it is contrary to the Sharia, values and ethics.

Drug peddlers held: Securitymen from the Drug Control General Department arrested two Indians for trafficking in drugs including marijuana, reports Al-Anba daily. One of the suspects was apprehended in a buy-bust operation in Mangaf while selling five grams of heroin to a secret agent. The suspect later guided detectives to an accomplice, a compatriot, who was arrested with five  sachets of heroin and an undisclosed quantity of marijuana in his possession.

Fraudster nabbed: Securitymen from the Criminal Investigation Department arrested a Syrian for swindling people by claiming he would cure their illnesses through the planets and astronomy, reports Al-Shahed daily. The fraudster was put under surveillance for some time before the securitymen raided his house and seized witchcraft tools and a computer that contained names of his victims.  MoI
