First mosque on solar energy

KUWAIT CITY, May 13: Engineer Fareed Emadi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs stated the ministry on Monday will inaugurate the first mosque to use alternative energy in Kuwait, reports Al- Anba daily.

Engineer Emadi noted the inaugural ceremony will be held under the auspices of the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Fahad Al-Afasi. He said Fatmah Al-Awadhi Mosque located in Khaitan area will rely solely on solar energy, and that all solar boards and water guides that rely on the clean alternative energy have been installed. He explained the objective of transforming the mosques in Kuwait to alternative energy-based is in line with the state policy to conserve power.
