Find realistic solution to issue of ‘budget deficit’ – Farwaniya to implement contracts

KUWAIT CITY, April 10: In the wake of opposition met by the proposals and draft laws presented to increase electricity and water tariff, some lawmakers have disclosed the importance of finding a realistic solution to the issue of deficit in the general budget and contribute to preserve consumption and expenditure, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily quoting a reliable source pointed to the parliamentary majority accepting the report of the Financial Committee against all odds, as regards the categories of fees approved by the committee. He added the majority of lawmakers understand the reality of the state’s current economic situation and have been seeking advice in that regard, noting the committee’s proposal does not aim to collect money from citizens but to check the rate of consumption.

He also said the new proposal will not be implemented immediately, indicating it’ll be effective in the coming years in order to attain financial abundance.
