KUWAIT CITY: The concerned authorities have opened an investigation into allegations that female employees at the residence affairs department are renewing the residence permits of expatriates for one dinar instead of KD 10, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources. It is not known specifically if the employees who are being investigated are involved in the scam, or in other words if they are using KD 1 stamp instead of KD 10 deliberately or if there is any other logical explanation to this issue.
According to a security source, after the transactions were completed it was discovered that the employees had used the one dinar revenue stamp. The source said if it is proven that the employees have deliberately committed this criminal act, they will be punished and accused of theft.
