KUWAIT CITY, July 21: The Filipino Badminton Committee in Kuwait (FBC) in collaboration with the Advocates and Keepers Organization of OFW ( AKOOFW) Inc opened its 99th regular tournament dubbed “First AKOOFW Championship Cup” on Friday at the Kuwait Disabled Sports Club in Hawally with a number of exciting and power-packed matches that included veteran and amateur players in various categories. AKOOOFW is a global non-government organization with over 140,000 card bearing members and over 15,000 registered members are from Kuwait.Over 130 badminton enthusiasts participated in the 1st AKOOFW Championship Cup.Meanwhile, in the one day tournament dubbed as 1PM Challenge that started at 1:00 in the afternoon, the winners are the following: Champions — Christian and Imee Alvarez; and Runners-up — Chris Hernandez and Maricar Tolipas.FBC is inviting all badminton enthusiasts to join every Friday in the regular tournament from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm that includes the Winner-Take-All one day tournament.On the other hand, FBC Singles and adults/kids badminton coaching/tutorial and court rental are from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
