Father oblivious to four sons in fake ‘citizenship’ episode

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: In what is considered a strange phenomenon, a father reportedly does not remember the names of his four sons, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, he also does not even know whether they are in Kuwait or abroad and is also not aware if anyone else is added to his citizenship file. However, according to reports the father seems to have gone blank all of a sudden because it is believed he has added ‘sons’ to his citizenship file in return for money according to a statement he made in the Criminal Court. The man has taken an oath to provide the court with names of his sons before the next session which is scheduled for Jan 3, 2017. He has been told that five sons have been added to his file and not four as he claims.

Security tightened: Following the assassination of the Russian envoy to Turkey, Kuwait has taken precautionary measures and tightened security around embassies and diplomatic missions, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, Kuwait has also allocated extra security personnel to the Russian Ambassador to Kuwait Alexey Solomatin. On the other hand, the Russian embassy has also installed additional monitoring devices at the embassy building in the aftermath of the assassination of its ambassador in Turkey.

Rotten fish destroyed: Food and market inspectors from the Department of Inspection and Follow-up of Municipal Services at Capital Governorate issued 15 citations and confiscated and destroyed 25 kgs of fish during an inspection campaign they organized in Mubarakiya and Mirqab areas particularly in warehouses, butcheries and souks, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Director of the department at Capital Governorate Eng. Ammar Al-Ammar affirmed that such campaigns, which are based on directives from the Director General of Kuwait Municipality Eng. Ahmad Al-Manfouhi, will continue in order to ensure the food items sold to consumers are suitable for human consumption. Director of Inspection and Followup Eman Al-Kandari also affirmed that such campaigns will continue during and after official working hours to prevent the intentions of those who seek to mess with the health of consumers. She explained that the recent campaign began after Maghreb prayers and lasted for three hours. The inspectors issued 15 citations for various violations such as trading without health license, employment of staff without health certificates and lack of general hygiene. They also confiscated and destroyed 25 kgs of fish. Meanwhile, the Safety Department carried out 660 transactions worth KD 654 in the month of November. These transactions included issuance of 117 licenses for private houses, nine licenses for barbequing activities, two road licenses and 69 licenses for safety of projects.

Maid steals necklace: A wellknown Kuwaiti businessman has filed a complaint with the Zahra Police Station accusing his housemaid of running away with a diamond necklace worth KD 150,000, reports Al-Shahed daily. The complainant said the housemaid claimed she was sick and did not accompany the family to the chalet. However, when the family returned home, they did not find either the necklace or the maid. Police are looking for the housemaid.

Fleeing to Brazil: Three of the four Kuwaitis who are wanted by law are said to have fled to Brazil from London since Brazil does not have extradition treaty with most countries of the world, reports Al-Shahed daily. As a matter of fact Brazil is a safe haven for those who escape the law in their countries and it is believed half of all those wanted by law in the world will be found in Brazil. According to sources, the fourth person is expected to show up in Cuba, since he has visited Havana more than once in the recent past
