Fall in manpower

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 30: Statistics released by the Central Statistics Bureau, through the labor market system, on manpower in Kuwait from 2014 to 2018 revealed that the number of national manpower decreased by two percent, reports Al-Jarida daily.

In the beginning of 2014, national manpower constituted 19 percent of the total workforce in the country.

In 2018, nationals constituted 17 percent of the workforce despite the increase from 338,000 to 369,000 in the government and private sectors.

Non-Kuwaiti manpower increased by two percent from 1,433,738 to 1,694,718; while the number of female citizens exceeded their non-Kuwaiti counterparts in 2018 as they constituted 54.9 percent – 208,000 Kuwaiti female workers compared to 171,000 non-Kuwaitis (45.1 percent).

The number of non-Kuwaiti males in both sectors constitute 89.4 percent – 1,523,222; while the number of Kuwaiti men reached only 160,485 or 10.6 percent
