Eye lost as female sponsor tortures maid

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: The Criminal Court has set Nov 4, 2015, to look into the case of a maid from Madagascar who was reportedly assaulted by her 55-year-old female Kuwaiti sponsor, a doctor by profession, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to case papers the maid was battered so much that it caused permanent damage in left eye of the maid. A complaint filed with the Adan Police Station states the sponsor was torturing the maid almost on a daily basis.

The daily added, judicial records show the former maid had also filed a complaint against the female doctor. Surprisingly, it is the niece of the suspect who took pity on the maid and helped her escape when the latter went to fetch another maid and left the victim in the custody of her sister. The maid then informed the police and her photo was published on the social networking websites.
