Ex-MP’s death file to Prosecution for probe

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 13: Health Minister Dr Jamal Al-Harbi has referred the investigation file regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of former MP Falah Al-Sawagh to the public prosecution to take legal actions against those responsible for his death. The file proved that medical mistake and negligence were main factors in the former lawmaker’s death, the ministry said in a press statement Tuesday, adding that Al-Harbi made his decision upon a thorough study of the investigation file and its legal aspects. The minister also reviewed the reports by the committees of technical investigation and supreme medical investigations, of which technical opinions indicated that medical negligence and mistake were behind the death of the former MP, said the statement

Blogger bailed out: The Criminal Court has refrained from penalizing the blogger Rania Al-Saad in absentia over allegations of offending the Amiri entity. The court obligated her to pay KD 1,000 for bail. The court also imposed a fine of KD 10,000 on a blogger identified as A.Y. over allegations of expressing contempt towards Shiite citizens. In addition, the Criminal Court sentenced another blogger to three year imprisonment for sharing on his Twitter account offensive posts about senior state figures as well as video clips that contain false news about Kuwait.
