Ethiopian gang of 12 caught running bogus maids office – Indian held for forging sponsorship docus

KUWAIT CITY, April 22: Officers from Department of Residency Investigations arrested an Indian expatriate in Farwaniya area for falsifying official documents to obtain sponsorship illegally under a company in Farwaniya area.

In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, Public Relations and Security Media Department explained that the Department of Residency Investigations had received a tip-off about an Indian expatriate who was illegally sponsored under a company in Farwaniya area.

Necessary investigations were carried out, which revealed that the salaries list issued by the company was not legal and its official documents were falsified. A case was filed against the company at Andalous Police Station and the suspect was arrested.

Meanwhile, seven violators of residency law were arrested in Hawally area. According to Public Relations and Security Media Department, a team of officers was carrying out an inspection campaign in some shops in Hawally area during which the arrests were made.

The suspects have been referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.

In addition, a bogus domestic labor office in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area was raided after the Department of Residency Investigations received information that the office was employing laborers on daily wages.

The officers arrested four men and eight women of Ethiopian nationality and confiscated fake seals and bills from the office. The suspects were referred to the concerned authorities. Public Relations and Security Media Department stated that the abovementioned campaigns were launched based on directives from Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passport Affairs Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah and under the supervision of Director General of Department of Residency Investigations Brigadier Saud Al-Khader and his deputy Brigadier Abdullah Al-Rujaib.
