KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: The Public Relations and Security Media Department in the Ministry of Interior has confirmed the arrest of two Ethiopian women who made a false report that a citizen murdered an Ethiopian maid. In a press statement, the department revealed the two Ethiopians called emergency line 112 saying that a citizen killed an Ethiopian maid. However, investigations into the report led to the discovery that it was a hoax call.

The two Ethiopians were arrested in Salmiya and were referred to the concerned authorities where the necessary measures have been taken prior to their deportation. The department then appealed to the public, especially the users of social networking sites, to always check the veracity of any information to avoid causing tension. Meanwhile, police are looking for an unidentified person who stole a taxi and abandoned it in Sabahiya when he found a two-year-old child in the back seat, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source said the mother went shopping in Fahaheel for a while and kept her infant in the custody of the driver who also left the taxi for a few minutes when it got stolen. The mother became hysterical and filed a complaint with the Fahaheel Police Station. After 90 minutes of frantic search the taxi was found in Sabahiya with the toddler crying.
