Egyptian troops kill 19 militants N. Sinai

CAIRO, Oct 17 (KUNA) — The Egyptian army said Monday its troops killed 19 “Takfiris” (Islamist militants accusing other fellow Muslims of blasphemy) and destroyed 31 arms caches and terrorist hotbeds in North Sinai Governorate.
The ongoing military operation targeting terrorist and criminal elements led also to the destruction of eight explosive charges that were set to hit the regular troops, said the Military Spokesman Brig. Mohammad Samir.
The operation takes place two days after the terrorist attack that killed 12 soldiers and 15 militants in the same governorate.
