Drunkard arrested

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 20:A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in Maidan Hawally area for drunken driving, says Al- Seyassah. According to security sources, Hawally securitymen were patrolling Maidan Hawally area when they noticed a man driving his vehicle in a haphazard manner. When they ordered him to pull over, he ignored the orders and sped off but securitymen chased him and eventually managed to force him to stop. They checked his details and discovered that he is a Kuwaiti citizen. They realized he is drunk after detecting the smell of alcohol from him. He was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. A case was fi led against him.

Robbery probed: The Interior Ministry has opened an investigation into the claim by the driver of a car who said KD 32,000 belonging to the company was stolen from the car, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to security sources, the expatriate driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, told police the money was to be delivered from the company’s headquarters to the Hawalli branch. He added, someone broke the car window and stole the cash.
