Drunk US citizen assaults two officers; Fake cop robs elderly Indian

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 12: An unidentified American has been referred to the Public Prosecution for assaulting two lance corporals, reports Al-Anba daily. This happened when the man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and the securitymen were waiting for a report from the Criminal Evidences Department. The American reportedly lost composure and began to humiliate and assaulted the two lance corporals when they cuffed his hands at the police station.

Indian robbed: Police are looking for an unidentified man for impersonating police and robbing a 60- year old Indian, reports Al-Anba daily. The Indian, who is working for the Khaitan Cooperative Society has filed a complaint with the Khaitan Police Station. He said the suspect showed his ID carrying the Interior Ministry logo, accused him of peddling in drugs and ordered him to get into the Jeep. He then drove him to an unidentified location and took his wallet containing KD 4.500, his civil ID, ATM card and cell phone.

Swindler caught: The Ahmadi police have arrested a Kuwaiti who was wanted by law for impersonating a manager of a wellknown Gulf-based business and swindling people by convinced them to invest in mega projects and doing the vanishing trick, reports Al-Shahed daily. The suspect was arrested on suspicion at a police check point. Later police discovered several complaints had been filed against the man.

Cable thief sought: Security operatives have arrested an Asian expatriate and are still looking for his accomplice in connection with copper cables stolen from underconstruction buildings, reports Al- Shahed daily. A security source said Farwaniya Security Directorate received several complaints regarding theft at under-construction sites and started an intensive investigation, which resulted in arrest of the first suspect. He named a compatriot as his partner in crime and provided his details to the police. Measures have since been taken to hunt him down.
