Drugs seized – Youth held; Egyptian stabbed

KUWAIT CITY, July 30: A Kuwaiti youth was arrested for consuming and possessing drugs, reports Al- Anba daily. A police patrol noticed traffic congestion along King Fahd Expressway but the officers were surprised when they found out the reason – a youth was fast asleep inside his car which stopped in the middle of the road. The youth appeared disoriented so the officers inspected his car thoroughly, leading to the discovery of an undisclosed quantity of drugs. A case was registered and the youth was referred to the Drug Control General Department.

Egyptian stabbed: Two unidentified persons have broken into a construction site in Kabad where they assaulted and stabbed an Egyptian guard, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source revealed the guard placed a distress call to the Operations Unit at the Interior Ministry, reporting that two masked persons tried to steal copper cables from the construction site. He then prevented them from doing so by using a baton, but one of them held him while the other punched, kicked and stabbed him. The guard was taken to a nearby hospital. A case was registered and police are now looking for the culprits
