Drug pills found in barrels floating off Failaka Island

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 1: Personnel from the General Department for Drugs Control, in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Coast Guard have ‘seized’ 250,000 narcotic pills (Captagon), before they could be sold in the local market, reports Al-Anba daily. No arrests have been made. A Kuwaiti saw eight barrels floating off the Failaka Island and alerted the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior. The barrels contained the drug pills.

Drug peddler flees: A drug peddler escaped arrest by officers from the Farwaniya Security Command, leaving behind four bags of hashish valued at KD 70,000 in Ishbiliya. A security source said the officers apprehended a youth in disoriented state who confessed receiving the supply of drugs from a man in Jahra area. Undercover agents contacted the alleged supplier and sealed a deal for the delivery of some drugs in Ishbiliya at a fixed price. The suspect vanished into thin air upon delivery of the contraband. The illicit items were taken into police custody. Detectives have since opened an investigation to trail and arrest him.

Lovers doing drugs: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti and his Lebanese girlfriend for possessing and consuming drugs, reports Al-Anba daily. According to a security source the two ‘lovers’ were seen riding in a car in Bayan and when the police saw the damage to the car because of a road accident, it prompted police suspicion and the man behind the wheel was ordered to pull over.
