KUWAIT CITY, April 5: The Sabah Al-Nasser region witnessed a scenario befitting a movie scene when the alleged drug peddler stabbed a man in the arm with a cleaver and in self defense another shot the suspect in the thigh, however the suspect managed to get behind the wheel of his vehicle and managed to escape, reports Al-Rai daily.

This happened when some citizens living in the area saw the suspect believed to be a drug trafficker ‘hovering’ in the area allegedly busy supplying drugs to his customers taking advantage of the calm atmosphere created by the curfew following the outbreak of the corona virus.

When he was confronted and forced to pull over for roaming in the area during curfew hours an argument ensued and he allegedly pulled out a cleaver and stabbed one of the citizens, while another in self defense shot the ‘drug peddler’ in the thigh.

When the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a report on the incident police and paramedics rushed to the spot and conducted a thorough search and finally traced him in the Al-Razi Hospital.

The area was cordoned off amid tight security and referred the suspect to the concerned authority after completing the treatment. The preliminary investigations show the man is a bedoun and that he is wanted by law in connection with trafficking in drugs and drug abuse. Police have seized from the man 700 dinars, believed to be the proceeds from the sale of drugs and a small scale used for weighing drugs.
