KUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: The Bachelors Committee continued its ongoing campaign to deal with the phenomenon of bachelors residing in residential areas by cutting off electricity to the properties inhabited by bachelors in family residential areas, reports Al- Anba daily.
Deputy Head of the Judicial Control Team of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Ahmad Al-Shammari explained that the power to more than 100 properties in Farwaniya Governorate was cut during the past month, after taking all measures and issuing warnings by the Ministry of Interior and Kuwait Municipality.
The team, in coordination with the distribution networks sector, monitored several negative phenomena that pose a security, health and social threat to families, as citizens reported a number of them.
In a related context, Al-Shammari revealed that the team, since the beginning of this month, has issued ten records of seizure in Farwaniya and Jahra Governorates due to infringements on the electricity and water networks. He warned real estate owners about the need to follow up the affairs of their properties to avoid violations and cutting off the power, resulting in penal measures due to the presence of bachelors, as well as in new properties under construction where the executing companies or building guards are tampering with the electricity and water network, which results in cutting off the power to those properties. In addition, Al-Shammari announced a sudden campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area during which the power was cut off to five properties where the electrical supplies were used in violation of the law.
