Discs loaded with porn – Thousands of pirated CDs seized

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: Some 100,000 copies of magnetic CDs (photo and video) with immoral content worth over KD 13,000 were recovered Wednesday by officers from the Ahmadi Security Directorate led by Interior Ministry Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sulaiman Fahad Al-Fahad. A statement by the Public Relations and Security Media Department indicated Ahmadi Security Chief Brigadier Abdullah Safah Al-Mulla received reports about the activities of an Asian expatriate dealing in pirated CDs at the basement of a building in Fahaheel area.

As per tipoff, some of the CDs the suspect was distributing contained immoral material and violated intellectual property act.

The sector guarded by search and arrest warrant from the Public Prosecution confirmed the report before raiding the basement where officers recovered a large number of pirated magnetic CDs and copier after nailing the suspect.

The suspect admitted the crime and named his partner in crime. However, security operatives say the latter is still at large. Search is ongoing to bring him to justice. Statement indicated security sector will pursue all violators of law who threaten public security.
