KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: The Sentences Renewal Judge for the third time in a row has ordered the continued detention of the mother who is accused of killing her daughter, reports Al-Qabas daily. Case papers show the victim’s decomposed body was found in the bathroom of an apartment in Salmiya where the family lived five years after the daughter was ‘allegedly’ murdered by the mother. The mother was arrested after her son rushed to a police station in Salmiya after a heated argument with his mother and complained that she had killed his sister in 2016 and kept the remains in the bathroom of their house.
The mother had apparently locked inside the room that has an attached bathroom until she was found dead. The mother, who is believed to be in her 60s, says she feared reporting her daughter’s death to police, and instead kept the corpse inside the bedroom’s attached bathroom. The mother who stands guilty continued to deny the accusations that she premeditatedly murdered her daughter.
She justified her act of holding the daughter against her will to prevent her from going out for her own safety and as a kind of lesson for her to educate her but was surprised by her death and did not tell anyone for fear of being accused of murder and going to prison. The case is expected to be referred to the Criminal Court where the accused will be confronted with facts and charges filed against her after hearing the testimonies of witnesses and the Forensic report.
