Details of new Kuwaiti passports circulated to other countries

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3: Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passport Affairs Major General Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah revealed that Kuwait has circulated samples of the new Kuwaiti passports to different countries, reports Al-Rai daily.

He explained that the samples sent were of special, diplomatic and standard passports, and the date for issuance of such passports to citizens is nearing. Specific authorities in various countries have been informed about the need to take necessary measures for accepting the new Kuwaiti passports.

In response to the pictures of a passport carrying his photograph and showing date of birth as 1984 that went viral on social media, Major General Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah said the pictures are just example of the new passport and the data it contain are not true but was aimed to indicate the kind of information the passport would contain.

Drug peddlers caught: Customs officers in Nuweiseeb Border arrested three people for trying to smuggle 160 grams of heroin.

The officers got suspicious of the three people who were traveling together, so they searched their vehicle thoroughly until the narcotics were found.

The suspects, along with the drugs, were referred to the concerned security department for legal action.

Writer released: The Public Prosecution has released on bail writer Abdulhadi Al-Jameel who was mistakenly arrested for allegedly organizing primaries, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The sources added the Prosecution during interrogation discovered the investigation officer had committed a mistake and subsequently he and others who were arrested with him were released on bail KD 200 each.

However, it has been reported the writer refused to pay the bail money and continued to deny his involvement in the case.

However, the Criminal Investigations Department in a telephone conversation told the Prosecution Al-Jameel was summoned by mistake.
