KUWAIT CITY, April 29: Director of Farwaniya Mosques Department has filed a complaint with the Director of the Security Department in the governorate highlighting frequent thefts of audio devices from the mosques, reports Al-Rai daily. According to the complaint, the audio equipment has been stolen from six mosques in the area Khaitan, Farwaniya and Riqai.

The thefts, according to the complaint, occur from the time of opening the mosque and before the call for worship (azan). Meanwhile, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has issued a circular stating the imam should open the doors of the mosque just 15 minutes before it is time of azan and keep the doors open for a maximum of 45 minutes after azan, and keep the doors open between Maghreb and Isha prayers. This decision applies to the mosques in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Khaitan, Al-Riqai and Farwaniya, the circular said.
