Death ruling stays on Egyptian for killing his Kuwaiti sponsor

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 28: The Court of Appeals upheld the death sentence issued against an Egyptian expatriate for killing his Kuwaiti sponsor who was in his 50s and was found dead in the balcony of a building in Khaitan area. Investigations conducted by the Ministry of Interior with the accused revealed that he had killed the citizen due to financial disputes between them related to the renewal of his residency.

In another judicial context, the Criminal Court sentenced a con artist to three-year imprisonment with hard labor for defrauding a number of social media celebrities and stealing money from them. The Court of Cassation had earlier sentenced him to ten-year imprisonment with hard labor for allegedly impersonating a ruling family member and a businessman, and defrauding a celebrity on social media.
