20 Medical supplying companies fined
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, the Minister of Health, has taken decisive action by suspending the professional licenses of 6 Kuwaiti doctors, one of whom is a former minister himself. This stern decision has been made in response to a range of serious violations committed by these medical professionals.
According to an official source, the grounds for the suspension of these doctors' licenses include their involvement in the illicit trade of Lyrica, a prescription medication, as well as operating medical facilities without the necessary licenses, reports Al Qabas. These actions not only raise serious concerns about the integrity of the medical profession but also pose significant risks to public health.
In addition to the suspension of medical licenses, Minister Al-Awadi has also issued financial penalties against 20 prominent companies that were engaged in contracts with the Ministry of Health. These fines come as a result of contractual violations that were identified during a thorough review and audit process.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi's commitment to upholding the standards of the healthcare industry in Kuwait is evident in these actions, which aim to ensure the safety and well-being of the public while promoting transparency and accountability within the healthcare sector.
