Daring robbery – ‘All-in-one’ fraudster swindles Kuwaitis, expats, GCC women

Daring robbery: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department are looking for an unidentified person who broke into a car agency in Shuwaikh and escaped with the four-wheel drive belonging to a well-known lawyer, reports Annahar daily. The daily added, the CCTV footage shows the suspect wearing sports clothes walking among the cars – the cars which were brought in for repair and maintenance service — in the basement allegedly looking for car keys in the ignition slot. He then gets behind the wheel of a luxurious SUV which was taken to the agency for maintenance work. He drives the vehicle to the exit gate and to the surprise of security guards and other staff breaks the barrier and off he goes.

The source said securitymen and the investigators rushed to the agency immediately after receiving a report and checked the CCTV cameras to identify the thief. After several hours, the stolen Jeep was found behind one of the power transformers in Jahra. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.

‘All-in-one’ cheat: Police have arrested an unidentified person for targeting and cheating, Kuwaitis and residents particularly GCC women, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the suspect is more than a professional and played three roles – the owner of a firm, female secretary and mandoub. He placed an advertisement in the social media and offered job facilities, all kinds of transactions, loans, etc. People who fell for the trap were then cheated. He would call from a landline and tell the person at the other end of the line that his secretary will get in touch with the minute details.

Then he spoke in a female voice and after explaining the formalities said his mandoub will come to collect the fee for the transaction and he himself visited the victim and collected the money. Investigations carried out by the CID men, led to his arrest. Later he was identified by his victims from a legal lineup.
