Customs seizes 1,780 ‘drug pills’

KUWAIT CITY, May 1: An Asian expatriate was arrested for attempting to smuggle 1,780 pills that are suspected to be drugs into the country via Kuwait International Airport. Deputy Head of Customs Media Committee and Supervisor of Kuwait International Airport Essa bin Essa said one of the inspectors at the airport suspected the passenger who arrived from his country and checked his luggage to find a large number of pills that were well-hidden.

The suspect was arrested and referred with the confiscated pills to the concerned authorities based on instructions of Director of Airport Customs Department Waleed Al-Nasser. Essa warned people against smuggling illicit and banned items into the country.

Meanwhile, an Asian expatriate was arrested for attempting to smuggle strange depraved items via post. According to Head of Parcel Post Office in Hiteen area Sami Al-Zayer, an Asian expatriate came to the post office to receive a package that arrived from an Asian country. The customs officers checked it via scanner and realized it contained some strange objects. They opened the package to discover some depraved items. Al-Zayer expressed appreciation for the dedication of the inspectors of the Parcel Post Office in Hiteen area towards their work
