Customs foils bid to smuggle snakes – Kuwaiti owner detained

KUWAIT CITY, June 10: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested at Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle 50 snakes into the country. According to sources, Customs officers at Kuwait International Airport noticed some strange bodies while inspecting the luggage of a Kuwaiti passenger who had arrived at the airport from an Asian country. They checked it to find 50 snakes wrapped in a cloth. The citizen was arrested and referred with the snakes to the concerned authorities for further investigations.

Traffic held up: Heavy traffic congestion was experienced on Airport Road after two vehicles collided. No injuries were reported. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about a traffic accident on Airport Road followed by heavy congestion, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location. Traffic officers removed the vehicles from the road and organized the traffic. Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the accident.

Meanwhile, an Arab expatriate sustained an injury to his hand when his vehicle collided with another on Sixth Ring Road. He was taken to the nearest hospital in a private vehicle. Necessary action was taken.
