Currents restored back in Qadsiya

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 11: The Ministry of Electricity and Water announced on Saturday that the power would be restored to the main transfer station in Al-Qadsiya (Al-Qadsiya A), after the station was stopped due to a failure of one of the transformers.

The ministry said in a press statement that the fire brigades went to the site in addition to the emergency teams affiliated with the ministry and carried out the necessary work and restored the current to the station, noting that the loss reached (19.3 MW) which led to the interruption of electricity to parts of the Qadsiya area.

The statement stated that the Acting Minister of Oil and Electricity and Water Minister Dr. Khaled Al-Fadil and a number of the Ministry’s leaders were present at the site as soon as the communication was received, in order to follow up the work progress and immediately return the current to the station.

He added that the damages were limited to some material losses, and the station is being examined to determine the causes that led to the failure, knowing that the station is still under the guarantee of the maintenance contract
