KUWAIT CITY, April 8: In line with the ‘Kuwaitization’ of government jobs, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has increased the number of expatriates whose services in the government sector will be terminated to 3,600.

The commission will soon address several government bodies to prepare list of expatriates as a preliminary step to notify them on the decision to end their services by the beginning of November this year.

Sources affirmed that the commission “continues to implement the ‘Kuwaitization’ policy which entails the employment of citizens instead of expatriates in the government sector, except the doctors.” Sources disclosed the total number of expatriate jobs targeted by July this year is about 2,690 with the possibility of increasing it to 3,600 by the end of November.

Sources said the commission will address the government bodies in this regard to prepare a list of new job titles which will be included in the ‘Kuwaitization’ policy by November. Sources added the number of expatriates whose services will be terminated might increase next year in a bid to reorganize the labor market and reduce the number of citizens on the employment waiting list.
