Crackdown launched on recklessness on the streets of Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, May 21: In response to instructions given by the Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah, the ministry is organizing campaigns to put an end to recklessness on the streets of Kuwait, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to a security source, campaigns are being organized in all governorates without exception, with the participation of Special Forces, the traffic and rescue patrols under the supervision of the respective director of security department of the governorate.

The source said the security forces rush to the ‘trouble spot’ as soon as there is information about recklessness on the roads. Security forces rush to the area, plainclothes detectives make note of the numbers plates of the vehicles and inform the relevant security departments who then seize the motorists and impound their vehicles. The sources affirmed the entire scenario is documented by the detectives using cell phones.

The source pointed out the security campaigns will also extend to roads where illegal races are organized along the Gulf Street and the Second Ring Road. Sources pointed out, the police will pursue reckless motorists who escape until they reach their homes and their cars shall be impounded and the owner of the house will be ordered to hand over the suspect.
